The Department of Journalism aims to educate journalists who can convey social events to the public accurately, promptly, and in accordance with ethical principles, and who possess research, analysis, and critical thinking skills. The education provided in the department aims to equip students with the ability to produce content in both traditional and digital media environments by combining the theoretical background of communication sciences with practice-oriented courses.
Within the scope of the curriculum, students receive education in areas such as news writing, media history, communication theories, media law, journalism ethics, digital journalism, data journalism, photojournalism, television and radio journalism. Theoretical courses are supported by practical studies to ensure that students gain experience in news production, content creation, and media expression techniques.
